EXECUTIVE TEAM
Dr. Lawrence Jones, Ph.D., is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Biotechnology Health Management and Care LLC in Pikesville, MD. He earned his doctorate from Regent University in the School of Business and Leadership with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Leadership. His doctoral research explored “An Exploratory Quantitative Comparison of Direct Reports’ Perceptions of Entrepreneurial Leadership of Biotechnology Founders Versus Nonbiotechnology Founders.” Dr. Jones tested for empirical evidence to distinguish the entrepreneurial leadership behaviors of the biotech entrepreneur. He is also a graduate of Webster University with a B.A. in biology, a graduate of the Masters in Biotechnology program from The Johns Hopkins University, and a graduate of the University of Maryland at Baltimore County (UMBC) Masters in Public Policy. In addition, Dr. Jones has received Certificates in Entrepreneurship from The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School Innovate Program and Business Development from the National Science Foundation (NSF) I-Corps lean customer discovery program. He also completed additional continued education training through the Harvard University School of Medicine and the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Patient Professors Academy Program. His vast professional employment experiences are by way of laboratory technical positions from the bench to managerial level positions. His work expertise spans time at the Washington University School of Medicine, The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and in the industry via the Rockville, Maryland bio space arena with the BioReliance Corporation. Dr. Jones provides consulting for emerging start-up bioengineering technologies and is also a member of the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs (SoPE).

The Biotechnology Health Management and Care LLC support team comprises professionals with business development backgrounds in web development and software development and through the robotic process and business process automation. In addition, other support staff teams provide specimen accessioning and phlebotomy.

We have the privilege of working with great minds in the industry that are tirelessly searching and creating solutions for some of today’s problems through their biotechnical applications. We consider biotechnology health as an acknowledgment that biotechnology has aided in advancing human health for patient care for decades. Without creative breakthroughs, certain health situations would be unchallenged.
Evens and Kaitin (2015) point out that during the 1980s, major biotechnology firms set a high priority on endocrine and blood disorders. They mention that “five companies developed sixteen products addressing twelve clinical indications, and in 1982, insulin was the first biotechnology product using recombinant human protein to receive FDA approval (p.214).” Kück and Dinkel (2015) define the term biotechnology as “the use of biological processes, organisms or systems to manufacture products intended to improve the quality of human life.” As an interdisciplinary science, biotechnology combines knowledge from various disciplines, including biochemistry, bioinformatics, genetics, microbiology, chemical engineering, and process technologies. The development process can take many years to complete, and clinical trials test for the product to be applied to the human body.
